Setting up a new project? You can import all your production codes at once instead of adding them one by one. This article shows you how.
1. Download the template
Open the project you want to import into, and go to Import data.
Under step 2. Import production codes, click Download template. You'll get an Excel file set up with the right columns.
You'll find the same template in AIMZ under the «Download template» button.
2. Download, copy and fill in the template
The template has a few simple rules, listed on the right-hand side of the sheet:
Name and Prod. code are required. Everything else is optional.
Prod. code must contain numbers only, no letters.
Group is optional, but makes it easier to sort your production codes in AIMZ later.
Cost price and Budget must use number format in Excel (not text).
Delete any rows you don't want to import.
Save the file when you're done.
3. Upload the file to AIMZ
Go back to Import data and click Import under production codes.
Drag the file into the upload area, or click to select it from your computer.
4. Match the columns
AIMZ asks you to confirm which Excel column belongs to each field (Name, Prod. code, Group and so on). If you used the template unchanged, AIMZ usually suggests the right column automatically — you just click Next through the fields.
5. Check the preview
You now see how the production codes will look in AIMZ. You can remove individual rows you decided not to import by clicking the bin icon.
6. Import
Everything looks right? Click Import. It usually takes just a couple of minutes before the production codes are available in the project.
Done! Your production codes are imported, and you'll find them under the Production Code module in the project.
