What does "Change Order Client - Adjustment rev. Cost price estimate" mean on a production code?

The line shows the adjustment of the revised budget that comes from approved changes to the client. To move budget between production codes, use a transaction.

Change Order Client - Adjustment rev. Cost price estimate shows how much the revised budget on the production code has been adjusted because the client has approved changes. In your setup the name may contain "budget" instead of "Cost price estimate". The adjustment is not meant for reallocating budget. For that you use a transaction.

Where do I find it?

  1. Go to Prod. Codes and click the name of the production code.

  2. Look for the line Change Order Client - Adjustment rev. Cost price estimate in Overview on the right.

  3. In the table in Prod. Codes there is a column with the same name. If it is not shown, turn it on under Columns.

The overview on the production code Plumber. 1 points to the line Change Order Client - Adjustment rev. Cost price estimate under Rev. Cost price estimate, and 2 to the Transactions line, which shows budget moved with transactions.

When do you use what?

  • Change Order Client: the cost on the code increases because the client has approved a change. This is shown as an adjustment of the revised budget.

  • Transaction: you move budget from one production code to another, for example because the work is carried out on a different code than estimated. Use + Transaction at the top right in Prod. Codes, or the Transactions tab on the production code.

Good to know

  • Transactions are saved in a log, so you can see what has been moved where.

  • If you keep changes from the client and internal transfers separate, it is easy to see why the revised budget has changed.

  • The Adjustments group in Overview is something else. It shows uncertainty and expected additions.
