What does "Remaining Revised Budget" mean in Setup and Operation, and why do I get a warning?

It is the amount left to distribute (the field may be called Remaining rev. Cost price estimate). The red warning means something has not been distributed across the months. Distribute it in the Cost price estimate tab.

"Remaining Revised Budget" is the amount left to distribute. On the expense item, the field may be called Remaining rev. Cost price estimate. It is the difference between the planned budget and what has been posted or accrued. The warning, a red exclamation mark next to the field, appears when part of the budget has not been distributed across the months.

Why do I get a warning?

  • There is a difference between the posted and accrued amount.

  • The budget has not been fully distributed across the months.

How to fix it

  1. Go to Setup and Operation and find the expense item with the warning.

  2. Open the expense item by clicking the name or the pencil, and go to the Cost price estimate tab.

  3. Click the icon to the right of the Remaining rev. Cost price estimate field and select Distribute remaining cost price estimate evenly. You can also distribute the amount yourself across the coming months.

  4. Save. The warning disappears when the amount has been distributed.

The Cost price estimate tab on the Rent expense item in Setup and Operation, with the distribution box open. 1 points to the Remaining rev. Cost price estimate field, which is red with a warning sign because part of the amount hasn't been distributed, and 2 to the Distribute remaining cost price estimate evenly button.

Good to know

  • When the whole budget has been distributed, the forecast going forward gives a more accurate picture.

  • You can distribute the amount evenly or according to how you expect the cost to arrive.
