When you complete a month, the accrued amount is replaced with what has actually been posted, and the difference is shown as a deviation. If the deviation has a natural explanation, for example a cost arriving the following month, move the amount forward in time: to the next open month, evenly over the remaining months, or proportionally. You can also offset the deviation via the warning icon on the month.
How to move the deviation forward in time
Go to Setup and Operation and click Edit on the table, or open the expense item.
Choose how the amount should be moved:
to the next open month
evenly over the remaining months
proportionally over the months
Click Save to get a new forecast calculation.
If you only move the amount forward in time, the final forecast doesn't change.
How to offset the deviation
Click the warning icon on the month with the deviation.
The deviation is offset (reset to zero). If needed, enter the value in a later month.
Save.
Important
Handle the deviation every time you complete a month. Otherwise the deviations pile up, and it becomes hard to see what are real overruns or underruns.
