Why does the Final Forecast change when I close a month in Setup and Operation?

In closed months, posted figures apply — this affects both closing months and moving invoices.

When you close a month under accrued costs in Setup and Operation, Posted takes over for that month. The amount you accrued for the month is replaced by what has actually been posted. If nothing has been posted to an expense item that month, it ends up at NOK 0.

Moving invoices in closed months

Because closed months use posted figures in the Final Forecast, the Final Forecast — and therefore the coverage ratio — can change if you move an invoice in a closed month from one expense item to another.

What if salaries are not posted to the project?

On each expense item you can set up automation so that the salary accounts are linked directly to the expense item. See Automatic invoice matching with ledger accounts.

If the salary cost is not posted to the project in the accounts, a closed month will show NOK 0 for the salary item. You can then either leave the months open, or create a manual invoice for salaries.
