Why can't I edit the deviation column directly in Setup and Operation?

The deviation is calculated from the whole row. To change it, you must change the monthly amounts on the expense item itself.

The deviation is the result of the whole row, so you cannot type in the column directly. If you want to affect the deviation, you must change the amounts on the expense item itself.

How to do it

  1. Go to Setup and Operation.

  2. Hold the mouse pointer over the row and click the pencil in the Expense item column, or click the name. The expense item opens as its own page.

  3. Open the Cost price estimate tab and change the monthly amounts.

  4. Save. The deviation is recalculated.

The table in Setup and Operation with the expense items Rig-up, Rig-down and Rental. 1 points to the pencil that appears at the expense item when you hold the mouse pointer over the row, and 2 to the Deviation column, which cannot be edited directly.

Example

If you set a month to 0, the deviation increases by that amount. You can then spread the amount evenly over the other months, so the deviation goes down again.

Good to know

  • The deviation is the difference between the revised budget and the forecast on the row. The budget column may be called Cost price estimate in your table.

  • If you have completed a month, there are separate ways to handle the deviation.
