Options are optional additional work described in the contract, but not yet activated. They do not affect the final forecast until they are triggered.
How to trigger an option
Go to Purchasing and open the contract
Find the option in the list and click the shopping cart icon on the left of the line
Choose whether to trigger it as a Change Order or as a Contract extension

Why doesn't an activated option affect the final forecast?
When you activate an option, AIMZ automatically creates a new cost linked to the contract. If the final forecast does not change as expected, the most common cause is that this automatically generated cost has been deleted or changed afterwards — the option then still shows as activated/purchased, but without the correct cost basis.
Solution: delete the existing option, create it again, and activate it again — a new cost is then generated that is correctly reflected in the final forecast.
