Why is the final forecast 0 and I get alerts right after start-up?

Budget and final forecast are built from the estimate. Before the estimate is published, the forecast is 0, while posted costs are already coming in and trigger alerts.

Budget and final forecast are built from the estimate. Before the estimate is published, there is no cost basis on the production codes, so the final forecast is 0. At the same time, posted costs come in automatically from the accounting system, which is why you get alerts that the posted amount exceeds the final forecast.

How to fix it

  1. Publish the estimate. The budget is then transferred to the production codes, and the final forecast gets a basis.

  2. Enter planned costs that are not in the estimate in the same way, for example accrued setup and operation and purchase contracts.

  3. Check Prod. codes again. Once budget and forecast are in place, the alerts disappear on the codes where the forecast covers what has been posted.

Prod. codes. 1: the Final forecast column. 2: the Posted cost column. 3: Rem. budget, which shows what remains of the budget.

Are the numbers wrong?

No. The posted numbers are correct. AIMZ only alerts you because the forecast does not yet account for them.

Why does the contribution margin show 100%?

When the final forecast is 0 and there is a contract value, there are no costs to deduct from the revenue. The contribution margin may therefore show 100% until the estimate is published.
