How do I check that the estimate is correct after it has been published?

Check the Production status, that the budget appears in Prod. codes, and that the total cost matches the cost price in the source estimate.

Once the estimate is published, check three things: that the estimate has the status Production in the estimate list, that the budget appears on the production codes in Prod. codes, and that the estimate's total cost matches the cost price in your source estimate.

How to check the estimate

  1. Go to Estimate. The estimate list shows Name, Description, Status and Total cost. Check that the estimate has the status Production.

  2. Compare Total cost with the cost price in the estimating software or the Excel file you imported from.

  3. Open the estimate and check that all lines have a production code. Lines without a code are grouped under «No prod. code».

  4. Go to Prod. codes and check that the budget appears on the codes.

  5. Open a production code and check that the estimate lines for the code are inside it.

The estimate list in the Estimate module. 1: the Production status, which shows that the estimate is published. 2: the Total cost column, which you compare with the estimate from the estimating software. 3: Publish.

If the figures don't appear straight away

It can take a little while for the publication to take effect. Wait a moment and refresh the page. Then check again that the budget appears in Prod. codes.

If the total doesn't match

  • Check whether any lines have an incorrect material cost. AIMZ calculates material cost as quantity × unit cost.

  • Excel can round decimals and cause small differences between unit cost and total.

  • Check for lines with quantity 0 or lines without a production code.
