In the invoice tables you group by Posting period by clicking Grouping at the top of the table. You then get the invoices collected per month, with a total per period. This works both in the Invoice module and on the Invoice tab of an account or production code.
How to do it
Go to Invoice, or open an account or production code and select the Invoice tab.
Click Grouping at the top of the table.
Under Add first level, click Posting period. Use Find column to search.
Click Close.
The table now shows one group row per month with the number of invoices in parentheses and the total for the period. Click the arrow next to a month to see the invoices.
When is this useful?
Payroll accounts: Many lines come in every month, such as wages and employer's contributions. Grouping quickly shows whether the month's payroll has come in.
Accounts with accruals: For example prepaid insurance, where amounts are posted and reversed. Negative lines and offsetting entries are usually accruals in the accounts, and grouping shows the net cost per period.
Good to know
The figures in AIMZ should mirror what is in the accounting system. If a period looks wrong, compare with the accounts for the same period.
The Posting period column is shown in the group row and removed from the table while the grouping is on.
You can combine grouping and filters, for example to see only one supplier per month.
You remove the grouping by opening Grouping and clicking Reset.
