What do I do with expected additions when I sign the contract they relate to?

Review the expected additions when the contract is registered, and delete them or transfer them into the contract. Otherwise the cost is counted twice.

When you register a new contract, review all expected additions that relate to this contract. For each one, delete it if the cost is now included in the contract sum, or transfer it into the contract. If they remain in addition to the contract, the cost is counted twice in the final forecast, and the contribution margin will be too low.

How to do it

  1. Register the contract in Purchasing.

  2. Go to the Expected Addition module, or open the production code, and find the expected additions that relate to the contract.

  3. For each expected addition, choose:

    • Delete, if the cost is included in the contract sum.

    • Transfer to contract, if the cost should be moved to the purchase.

  4. Also delete any planned purchases you have entered as placeholders for the same cost.

  5. Check the final forecast on the production code.

The Expected Addition module. 1: an expected addition. 2: the Contract column, which shows which contract the addition relates to. 3: Edit, where you delete the addition once it has been transferred into the contract.

Tips

When you work with purchases that are not fully clarified, you can enter the remaining expected costs as an expected addition. That way you know there are enough funds left when you make the purchase.
