Do I need to create a report at every quarter end to compare quarter against quarter?

Yes, to compare against a report there must be a saved report for the period. Without a report, you can only compare against a date.

Yes. To compare today's figures against a previous quarter, there must be a saved report for that quarter. If you have not created a report for the period, you can only compare against a date. So create a report at every quarter end, or every month, to «lock» the period.

How to do it

  1. Update the forecasts before the quarter end: change orders, expected additions, uncertainty and degree of completion.

  2. Go to Report and click + Report.

  3. Give the report a name, for example «Q3 2026».

  4. Select the Posting period up to and including the last month of the quarter.

  5. Save.

  6. Next quarter, create a new report and compare it against the previous one.

The report list. 1: + Report, where you create one report per quarter. 2: Forecast date. 3: Posting period, which shows which period the report covers.

Forgot to create the report?

You can create a report for a point in the past by setting the forecast date to the quarter end.

Tips

Create a separate table profile for reporting with only the columns that matter when you look back in time. Not all columns are equally relevant in a report.
