How do I create several variants of the same index?

Click + Index in Index regulation, choose the same SSB index in the External index field and give each variant its own name, for example one for the client and one for the subcontractor. The variants can have different forecasts going forward.

You can add the same SSB index several times under different names. This is useful when you want one variant towards the client and one towards the subcontractor. The index is the same, but the forecast going forward can be set differently.

How to do it

  1. Go to Index regulation and the overview of indices.

  2. Click + Index at the top right. If you have not opened an index yet, the button is called + Create new index and is in the middle of the page. The New index dialog opens.

  3. Select the SSB index in the External index field. Check both the index number and the full name.

  4. Give the index a name that distinguishes it from the others, for example "Apartment block – Client".

  5. Select the period in the From / To date field, from project start to expected end.

  6. Repeat for the next variant, for example "Apartment block – Subcontractor".

  7. Adjust the forecast values going forward on each variant. These are the rows with source Estimate in the index table.

The New index dialog in Index regulation (opened with + Index or + Create new index), with the indices Index Client and Index Subcontractor in the list behind. 1 points to the External index field, where the SSB index is selected with the number before the name, 2 to the Name field, where you give the variant its own name, and 3 to the From / To date field for the period.

Good to know

  • The actual index values are the same for all variants. Only the forecast going forward can differ.

  • You can, for example, be more cautious with the increase towards the client and enter a larger increase towards the subcontractor.

  • Clear names make it easier to choose the right variant on the contract.
