Why should I double-check the SSB index I choose?

Several SSB indices have almost identical names, and some share the same number. Compare both the number and the full name with the contract, so you don't choose the wrong index.

Several SSB indices have almost identical names, and several indices can have the same number. For example, 08655 is used for many trades, both for "total" and for materials. Therefore, check both the number and the full name.

How to do it

  1. Find the index number and index name in the contract, for example 08655 for apartment block total.

  2. Go to Index regulation and click + Index, or Edit on an existing index.

  3. Open the list in the External index field. The number comes before the name, for example "08651: Construction cost index for dwellings, total (SSB)".

  4. Select the index where both the number and the name match the contract, including the trade and whether it applies to "total" or only materials.

The New index dialog in Index regulation with the External index drop-down open. 1 points to the External index field, and 2 to two indices with almost identical names, Apartment block total and Apartment block total, materials, where the number comes before the name.

Good to know

  • The wrong index gives the wrong index regulation, both in the billing schedule and in the forecast going forward.

  • If the contract does not state an index number, clarify it with the counterparty before you set up index regulation.

  • If you cannot find the index with the right number in AIMZ, you can ask support to fetch it.
