Why can't I change a field in the table?

Fields that are calculated, come from accounting or are summary rows are locked. They have muted text or hatching, and you get an explanation when you click the field again.

A field cannot be changed when its value is calculated by AIMZ, comes from the accounting system, or collects items from several places. Such fields have muted (grey) text, and empty fields that cannot be filled in are hatched. Click the field again or start typing, and you get an explanation of why it is locked.

Common reasons

  • Calculated figures: Columns such as Final forecast and Rem. budget are calculated from other figures and cannot be entered directly.

  • Can only be set on new rows: Budget and account number can only be set directly in the table on new accounts. On an existing account, you change the budget in the account's dialog.

  • Summary rows: The row No account or No production code collects items that are not linked to anything. The row is locked for editing.

  • Data from accounting: Posted figures come from the accounting system. You correct errors in the accounting system.

  • Read-only access: If your user only has read access, the whole table is locked.

Good to know

The rules for what can be changed are the same as before. What is new is that you are now told why a field is locked.
