Create several expense items at once

Bulk-create expense items in Setup and Operation from the production code list, with the budget fetched automatically from the estimate.

If you're setting up Setup and Operation on a project with many production codes (prod. codes), you don't need to create the expense items one by one. Create them all at once, with the budget fetched automatically from the production codes.

How to do it

  1. Go to Prod. codes (in some projects Account).

  2. Tick the production codes you want to create an expense item for — or select an entire group or all of them.

  3. Open the action menu via the button in the left margin and select New expense item (may also appear as Create expense items).

  4. AIMZ creates one expense item per selected production code and fetches the budget from the estimate automatically.

This is what it looks like when you select several:

Several production codes ticked, with the action menu for creating expense items

When the expense items are created, each item automatically gets the budget of its production code, spread evenly over the project period. You then open each expense item to adjust the accrual.

Tip: stick to one expense item per production code — it makes automatic invoice matching much easier. See the main article Setup and Operation.
