Why does a production code show only a number after estimate import?

The code did not exist in the production code plan and was created without a name. Open the code and give it a name and group.

A production code that shows only a number, for example «209 – 209», did not exist with a name in the production code plan when the estimate was imported. The code works, but it has no name and has the status Has no name. You fix it by opening the code and filling in a name and group.

How to name the code

  1. Go to Prod. codes and find the code that shows only a number.

  2. Open the code for editing. The Edit production code window has the tabs General, Attachments and Advanced.

  3. Under General, fill in Name and select Group. Prod. code is the number, and the window also shows the estimate amount on the code.

  4. Save.

Editing a production code, opened with the pencil icon. 1: The Name field. 2: The Group field. 3: Save.

Why does this happen?

The estimate often contains project-specific codes that are not in the standard production code plan. The budget still lands correctly as long as the number matches. The name just makes the overview easier to read.

Avoid it next time

Import or create all production codes used in the estimate, with name and group, before you import the estimate.
