How do we track many small service and aftermarket jobs?

Create one umbrella project and let each production code represent one job. You get costs and a forecast per job, plus a combined overview.

For many small jobs, such as warranty claims or a door replacement, it rarely makes sense to create a full project with an estimate for each one. Instead, create one umbrella project in AIMZ and let each production code represent one job. You then get costs, invoices and a forecast per job, and a combined overview at project level.

How to set it up

  1. Create one project, for example «Service and aftermarket», using the project number from the accounting system.

  2. Add one production code per job.

  3. Make sure the jobs are recorded as production codes under this project in the accounting system, so the invoices land on the right job.

  4. Add a budget or purchases per job where useful.

  5. Consider simplifying the menu and tables, and hide modules and columns you don't need for these jobs.

Prod. codes, where each production code can represent one job. 1: a production code. 2: the Final forecast column, which shows the forecast per job. 3: Columns, where you choose which columns are shown.

Prerequisite

This model requires the accounting system to record the jobs as production codes under one project. If the accounting system records each job as a separate project or subproject, the model won't work directly. Contact us in the chat and we'll find a setup that fits.
