Which line in the billing schedule should an outgoing LPS invoice be linked to?

Link the LPS invoice to one of the LPS lines in the billing schedule. It doesn't matter which, as long as it is an LPS line.

You link an outgoing LPS invoice to an LPS line in the billing schedule, for example the line «Markup (LPS)». It doesn't matter which LPS line you choose, as long as it is an LPS line, because the result is the same. Preferably use one line consistently.

How to do it

  1. Go to Invoice and the Outgoing invoice tab.

  2. Click Link on the LPS invoice.

  3. Choose the billing schedule, and choose an LPS line.

  4. The next unlinked invoice appears automatically.

The Invoice module. 1: the Outgoing invoice tab, where you link outgoing invoices to the lines in the billing schedule.

What should the other outgoing invoices be linked to?

  • Instalments on contract work: The contract work line in the billing schedule.

  • Invoicing a change order: The right Change Order Client. You then see in the change order table what has been invoiced.

  • Other: Other revenue, or without production code.

Why do outgoing invoices need to be linked?

Outgoing invoices go to posted revenue regardless. The link separates what the revenue concerns, and ensures that posted amounts are shown correctly in the billing schedule and in the liquidity view.

Good to know

Automatic allocation based on account number, for example separate accounts for LPS or change work, can be arranged with AIMZ. Until then, linking is done manually.
