How do I distribute an expected addition across several production codes?

An expected addition always sits on one production code. If the cost concerns several trades, create one expected addition per production code with the same description, distributed by best estimate.

An expected addition is registered on one production code. If the cost concerns several trades, create one expected addition per production code and distribute the amount by best estimate. Use the same description on all of them so you can see they belong together.

How to do it

  1. Estimate how much of the cost belongs to each trade.

  2. Go to Prod. codes and open the first production code.

  3. Click Add and select Expected Addition.

  4. Enter the amount for this trade and a common description, for example "Redesign basement".

  5. Repeat on the other production codes.

Expected Addition. 1: the description. 2: the production code the addition sits on. 3: + Expected Addition.

When the price arrives

If the prices arrive as change orders from the subcontractors, link each Change Order Subcontractor to the expected addition on its production code. The expected addition is then reduced instead of the cost being added on top.

Good to know

  • Change orders that come from an external change management system without a split by trade must be distributed manually in the same way.

  • In the Expected Addition module you see all the items together and can sort by description.
