Can I link invoices directly to a line in Own Production?

No, invoices land on the production code. Own Production is budget and forecast, while the posted cost is the actual result.

No, not currently. Invoices can't be linked to individual lines or work packages in Own Production. They land on the production code they are coded to. Own Production works as budget and forecast, while the posted cost on the production code is the actual result.

How to work in practice

  1. Let invoices come in on the production code as usual from the accounting system.

  2. When an invoice arrives, use it as the basis for registering actual quantity and cost on the right line and month in Own Production.

  3. Do a monthly reconciliation: compare what you have registered in Own Production with what is posted on the production code.

  4. If the deviation is large, adjust the forecast in Own Production.

A production code with the Invoice tab open. 1: the Invoice tab with the invoices on the production code. 2: the Invoice linking column, which shows what the invoice is linked to. 3: the Production code column.

Why does it work this way?

What is posted on the production code should roughly match what you have accrued on the lines belonging to the code. Own Production gives you the forecast per work package and line, while the accounts show what has actually been paid. Together they give an accurate picture.

Good to know

  • Weekly follow-up is not currently supported. Reconciliation is done per month.

  • If you want to separate material invoices from the rest on a production code, you can instead create a purchase of the type Purchase and link the material invoices there.
