What do the columns in the Own Production overview mean?

Explanation of the Work, Production code, Budget, Unit, Unit cost, Quantity, Forecast and Deviation columns in Own Production.

The Own Production overview shows each work package with its lines underneath, plus columns for budget, forecast and deviation per line. Budget is what you planned, forecast is what you now expect the line to end at, and deviation is the difference between them.

The columns

  • Work: The name of the work package, and the description of each line under it.

  • Production code: The code the line belongs to, for example one code for labour hours and one for materials.

  • Budget: The planned amount for the line, calculated as quantity × unit cost.

  • Unit, Unit cost and Quantity: The values you entered when you created the line.

  • Forecast (cost) and Forecast (quantity): What you expect the line to end at, based on the distribution and what has been logged as actual consumption.

  • Deviation: The difference between the forecast and the budget.

Monthly view

You can switch to a monthly view that shows quantity (QTY) and cost per month for each line. This is also where you register actual consumption for a month.

Good to know

  • The project's final forecast and contribution margin are shown at the top of the page. They are affected by Own Production through the production codes the lines are linked to.

  • At the start, the forecast equals the budget. It changes when you register actual consumption or approve deviations.

  • Columns can be dragged back and forth, and you can hide columns you don't need.
