What happens to estimate lines without an account?

Lines without an account are collected under «no account». The amount is included in the final forecast, but invoices cannot be linked to the lines.

Estimate lines without an account can be imported and are collected under «no account». The amount is included in the final forecast, but invoices cannot be linked to these lines, because AIMZ does not know which account the cost belongs to. The cost therefore cannot be tracked against what is actually incurred.

Typical causes

  • The line has quantity 0 and is not expected to incur cost. Then a missing account is not a problem.

  • The line is an allocation item made up of many accounts, for example site setup allocation in the estimate.

  • The account was forgotten in the estimating software or the Excel file.

How to avoid it

  1. Review the estimate before importing, and make sure all lines that may incur costs have an account.

  2. Delete lines with quantity 0 that will not be tracked.

  3. Import allocation items such as site setup allocation at the lowest level, so that each line gets the correct account.

An estimate in AIMZ. 1: Group, where you group the estimate by account and find the lines without an account. 2: Total cost per group. 3: the Production code column.

Good to know

When all lines that may incur costs have an account, invoices end up in the right place, and you can track budget, incurred and remaining per account.
