Why shouldn't I enter a project number on a test project?

The project number starts the integration with the accounting system. A real number on a test project pulls in real invoices. Leave the field empty or turn off the integration.

When you enter the project number from the accounting system on a project, the integration with the accounting system is activated automatically, and invoices and transactions on that number start coming in. If you enter a number that exists in the accounting system on a test or practice project, you end up with a test project full of real costs.

How to create a test project safely

  1. Create the project as usual with Add project.

  2. Leave the project number from the accounting system field empty.

  3. Alternatively: turn off the integration activation on the project.

  4. Give the project a name that clearly shows it is a test project, for example «TEST – Course».

  5. Save.

Project information in Edit project. 1: the Project number field, which should be left empty on a test project. 2: the Name field.

Have real invoices already come in?

  • Remove the project number from the test project.

  • Reject the invoices that have come in, or contact us in the chat and we will help you clean up.

Good to know

For security reasons, only certain users can enter a project number on a project, typically an admin.
