What is carried over to the client when I carry forward a Change Order Subcontractor?

The subcontractor's claim is carried over, with cost price and the project's markup. If you have rejected the subcontractor but still claim from the client, you must check the amount.

When you carry forward a Change Order Subcontractor, the subcontractor's claim is carried over to a Change Order Client. The line gets the cost price from the subcontractor change order and the project's markup.

How to do it

  1. Open the change order in Change Order Client, click Carry forward costs, tick the subcontractor change order and click Confirm.

  2. Check Cost price, Markup and Revenue claim on the line. It is the revenue claim that goes to the client.

  3. Adjust the amount if the claim against the subcontractor and the claim against the client should not be equal.

  4. Save.

A Change Order Client in AIMZ with a line carried forward from a Change Order Subcontractor. 1 points to the Carry forward costs button, 2 to the columns Cost, Cost price and Markup on the line (the link icon in Cost shows that the cost comes from the subcontractor change order), and 3 to the columns Revenue claim and Revenue that go to the client.

Good to know

  • It happens both that a change order is rejected against the subcontractor but still claimed from the client, and the reverse.

  • If you reject the subcontractor but still claim from the client, make sure the correct amount is carried forward.

  • The markup can be overridden on each change order.
