Why does AIMZ suggest a cost based on the markup on a Change Order Client?

AIMZ calculates backwards from the revenue claim and the markup on the change order and suggests what the cost will be. If you have no UE change yet, the cost is held as an expected addition.

When you enter a revenue claim on a Change Order Client, AIMZ calculates backwards from the markup on the change order and suggests what the cost will be. If you have not yet received a change from the subcontractor, you can just save, and the cost is held as an expected addition.

How it works

  1. Open the change order in Change Order Client.

  2. Enter the amount in the Revenue claim column on the line.

  3. AIMZ uses Markup on the line to calculate Cost price. With an 8% markup, for example, a revenue claim of 108,000 becomes a cost price of 100,000.

  4. Check the suggestion and save.

The lines in a Change Order Client in AIMZ. 1 points to the Revenue claim column, 2 to the Markup column (with a choice between % and kr), and 3 to the Cost price column, which is linked to the revenue claim via the markup (here 10%).

Good to know

  • The suggested cost is held as an expected addition on the production code until the actual cost arrives.

  • When the UE change arrives, you link it to the line with Link in the Cost column.

  • The opposite also applies: If you start from the cost, AIMZ calculates the revenue using the markup.
