Can subcontractor change orders come from the change management system while client change orders are entered manually?

Yes. You can run a hybrid where Change Order Sub comes in via the integration, while Change Order Client is registered directly in AIMZ, or the other way around.

Yes. With an integration to the change management system, change orders come into AIMZ automatically, but you can run a hybrid. If the client does not want to use the change management system, the change orders towards the subcontractors can come in via the integration, while the change orders towards the client (Change Order Client) are registered directly in AIMZ. The opposite also works.

How to work with a hybrid

  1. Let Change Order Sub come in from the change management system via the integration.

  2. Create Change Order Client directly in AIMZ under Change Order → Change Order Client.

  3. Pass on the costs from the imported Change Order Subs to the Change Order Client with Pass on costs.

  4. Export the Change Order Client as PDF and send it to the client.

The change order overview. 1: the Change Order Sub tab with the change orders towards subcontractors. 2: the Relations column, which shows the link between Change Order Client and Change Order Sub. 3: the Production code column.

Good to know

  • In AIMZ you can see how a Change Order Sub is linked to the related revenue and Change Order Client, regardless of where it comes from.

  • Be aware of what actually is a change order. Especially on collaborative contracts, it can be wise to enter or check change orders manually, so that not everything that comes in automatically is treated as a change order.
