Can I add costs to a Change Order Client after it has been approved?

Yes. You can link new subcontractor change orders to it, or add new cost lines with zero income, for example an expected addition.

Yes. Even if a Change Order Client has been approved, you can link new subcontractor change orders to it or add new cost lines with zero income.

How to do it

  1. Go to Change Order Client and open the approved change order.

  2. Click Add to add a new line, and select a production code in the Production code column.

  3. Link the line to a subcontractor change order with Link in the Cost column, or enter the cost as an expected addition.

  4. Leave the income at 0, since the client has already approved the amount.

  5. Save.

An approved Change Order Client in AIMZ (status Approved on the lines). 1 points to the Add button for adding a new line, 2 to the Production code column where you select the production code for the line, and 3 to the Link button in the Cost column for linking the line to a subcontractor change order.

Good to know

  • The lines can have different production codes.

  • This is how you capture costs that appear after approval, without changing the income.

  • The cost affects the final forecast and thereby the contribution margin on the change order.
